I like these pedals.  They work with Mountain bike Shimano SH51 cleats.  They have better ground clearance than any of the double sided Mountain bike pedals.  (I have hit a lot of rocks with my pedals, I hate it)  The A520 are lighter than comparably priced double sided mountain bike pedals.  If you are reasonably good at getting into your pedals you will not have trouble mountain biking with these pedals.  I have three pair (oops four) pair of Mountain bike shoes with SH-51 cleats.  I am not going to go to Road shoes for my one road bike.---Rick
